Mounting Layout

The DAPPRA DPR Series offers multiple 40 mm beam spacing models: DPR-0440 (4 beams), DPR-0640 (6 beams), DPR-0840 (8 beams), DPR-1040 (10 beams), DPR-1440 (14 beams), DPR-1640 (16 beams) and DPR-2440 (24 beams). Choose the model whose protection height matches your machine opening. The DPR-2440-NPN-NC provides the largest 40 mm pitch protection field at 920 mm.
For a 380 mm machine opening, choose a model whose protection height is at least 380 mm. In the DPR Series 40 mm pitch range, the DPR-1040-NPN-NC provides a 360 mm protection height, and the DPR-1240 provides a 440 mm protection height. Select the closest protection height above your opening.
First determine the machine opening height that must be monitored. Then select a protection height equal to or greater than that opening. Next confirm the required resolution (10 mm, 20 mm or 40 mm) based on the smallest object to be detected. Finally verify the detection distance, output configuration and mounting requirements.
Compare models based on beam quantity, optical axis pitch, protection height, total height, output type and signal logic. Detection distance is the maximum physical distance between the transmitter and receiver at which the sensor can reliably detect beams — for the DPR-2440-NPN-NC, this is 0.2–3 m. Safety distance is the minimum mounting distance between the light curtain and the machine hazard zone, calculated according to the machine stopping time, sensor response time and applicable safety standards.
