Product Overview

DAPPRA DRM-0620-R is a six-beam Relay Safety Light Curtain designed for machinery safety protection, automation equipment and small to medium-sized machinery. It uses separate EMITTER and RECEIVER units to provide a 100 mm protection height, with a 30 × 35 mm aluminium alloy housing, relay output and a ≤5 ms response time.

The DRM Series uses Multiple Parallel Beam Through-Beam Detection Technology and adopts relay output with isolated common, normally-closed and normally-open contacts for direct switching of machine control circuits. It supports 20 mm and 40 mm optical-axis pitch configurations for machinery protection applications.

The DRM-0620-R is suitable for machine protection, personnel protection, pressing equipment, cutting equipment, extrusion equipment and general industrial automation applications.

Relay Output Design with Vibration Resistance

The DRM Series adopts a relay output architecture with isolated common, normally-closed and normally-open contacts. This allows the light curtain to switch the machine control circuit directly without an additional interface, which simplifies wiring and improves reliability in industrial environments. The operating voltage is DC 10–30 V with an output current of ≤200 mA and power consumption of <5 W.

The product uses a 30 × 35 mm aluminium alloy housing with an internal vibration-resistant structure. Combined with complete self-checking functions and integrated protection circuitry (power over-voltage protection, reverse-polarity protection, output over-current protection), this design supports stable detection on pressing, cutting and extrusion machines where vibration is continuous.

Optical Detection Structure

The DRM-0620-R uses separate EMITTER and RECEIVER units to create a parallel infrared detection field.

The 6 optical beams are arranged with a 20 mm optical-axis pitch, providing a 100 mm protection height.

When an object or person interrupts the infrared beam path, the receiver detects the change in the optical field and switches the corresponding relay output (common, normally-closed, normally-open contacts) to control the machine stop circuit.

Fast ≤5 ms Response

With a response time of ≤5 ms, the DRM-0620-R provides fast detection for machinery safety applications, supporting rapid response to objects or personnel entering or passing through the sensing area.

Combined with line synchronization between the emitter and receiver and the complete self-checking function, the DRM Series supports reliable machine protection in vibration-heavy industrial environments.

IP65 Protection for Industrial Environments

The DRM-0620-R features an IP65 protection rating with an aluminium alloy housing, making it suitable for industrial automation environments where protection against dust and water jets is required.

The operating temperature range is −10 ~ +55 °C with an operating humidity of <85 % RH at 20 °C, and light interference resistance of 10,000 Lux (incident angle > 5°).

The DRM-0620-R uses relay output with isolated common, normally-closed and normally-open contacts for direct switching of machine control circuits. This eliminates the need for an additional output interface and simplifies integration with machine control systems.

Installation Method

Wiring & Relay Contacts

The DRM-0620-R uses relay output at DC 10–30 V. The receiver provides a sync port and a 5-wire output port for connection to the machine control circuit. The relay contacts (common, normally-closed, normally-open) switch the machine control circuit directly.
