The DAPPRA DPL Series is a compact safety light curtain designed for inspection and protection on automation equipment, small and medium-sized machinery. Its slim 35 × 28 mm housing fits installations where space is limited but detection accuracy must remain high.

DPL Series Overview
The DAPPRA DPL Series is a compact safety light curtain series used for inspection and protection on various automation equipment. With a slim 35 × 28 mm cross-section housing, the DPL Series is suited to installations where space is limited but detection accuracy must remain high.
The DPL Series uses Multiple Parallel Beam Through-Beam Detection Technology with separate emitter and receiver units and line synchronization for reliable optical-beam operation. Optical-axis pitches of 5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm and 40 mm provide resolutions of 10 mm, 15 mm, 25 mm and 45 mm respectively, covering high-precision detection through to large-area guarding.
Standard protection heights range from 60 mm to 2000 mm, and the standard detection distance is 0.1–6 m. A dual-circuit self-checking output design and integrated protection circuitry support safe, stable operation in electrically noisy industrial environments.

Select the appropriate DPL model according to the optical-axis pitch, beam quantity and protection height.
The DPL Series is available in 5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm and 40 mm optical-axis pitch configurations, with multiple beam quantities, protection heights and total heights for different industrial inspection and protection requirements.
Protection height (H) is calculated as (beam quantity − 1) × optical-axis pitch. Total height (L) additionally includes the upper and lower end caps and the PCB blind zones at each end of the light curtain. Protection heights outside the standard range can be customized.

DPL Series Installation & Mounting Options
The DPL Series supports multiple mounting configurations for different automation equipment structures. Top & bottom mounting brackets are included as standard, with side, cantilever and integrated steel tube brackets available as options.

Wiring Principle
DPL Series Wiring Principle
The DPL Series supports both NPN and PNP output wiring configurations at 24 V DC. Select the wiring method according to the output type of the selected model.
24 V DC NPN Output Wiring
The NPN output switches the signal line to 0 V (GND) when the optical beam is interrupted. Connect the receiver output to the PLC or controller input configured for NPN (sinking) input, and connect the emitter and receiver to 24 V DC according to the wiring diagram below.
24 V DC PNP Output Wiring
The PNP output switches the signal line to +24 V when the optical beam is interrupted. Connect the receiver output to the PLC or controller input configured for PNP (sourcing) input, and connect the emitter and receiver to 24 V DC according to the wiring diagram below.
