The MDR Series supports DIN rail mounting with specific ventilation clearance and orientation requirements for reliable operation.
The appropriate mounting orientation is vertical — input terminals at the bottom and output terminals at the top. Upside-down, horizontal or table-top mounting is not allowed, as sufficient cooling will not be possible.
Always allow good ventilation clearances around the unit: 5 mm left and right, 40 mm above and 20 mm below, to prevent overheating. When the adjacent device is a heat source, keep 10–15 cm clearance.
Admissible DIN rail: TS35/7.5 or TS35/15. Tilt the unit slightly rearwards, fit over the top hat rail, slide it downward until it hits the stop, press against the bottom for locking, then shake slightly to check the locking action.
The FG (Frame Ground) terminal must be connected to PE (Protective Earth) for safety and to ensure proper EMC performance.
Maximum operating temperature: 70°C for MDR-10 / 20 / 40 / 60 (with derating above 50°C); 60°C for MDR-100. Do not install near fire sources or high ambient temperature locations.
Install the unit only in a pollution degree 2 environment — typically dry, well-ventilated locations such as control cabinets. Do not install in places with high moisture or near water.
The MDR Series operates with free air convection cooling and requires adequate ventilation clearance. Do not install in orientations other than vertical, such as upside down, horizontal or table-top mounting.
The MDR Series uses two terminal blocks: TB1 for input and TB2 for output. Use copper wire only and ensure all strands of each stranded wire enter the terminal connection.
| Pin No. | Assignment |

| 3 | AC/L |
| Pin No. | Assignment |
|---|---|
| 1 | DC OUTPUT +V |
| 2 | DC OUTPUT -V |
| 3 | DC OK active signal |
MDR-10 / 20 use DC OK active signal (no relay contact).
| Pin No. | Assignment |
|---|---|
| 1, 2 | DC OUTPUT +V |
| 3, 4 | DC OUTPUT -V |
| 5, 6 | DC OK relay contact |
MDR-40 / 60 / 100 include a DC OK relay contact (30V/1A resistive load) occupying 2 pins. Contact Close = PSU turns on / DC OK. Contact Open = PSU turns off / DC Fail.
| +V ADJ | DC output voltage adjustment potentiometer (MDR-20 / 40 / 60 / 100 only) |
| DC OK | DC output status indicator LED (all models) |
MDR-10 does not include a +V ADJ potentiometer — the output voltage is fixed.
The FG pin must be connected to PE (Protective Earth). Both -V pins and both +V pins (on MDR-40 / 60 / 100) should be connected to their respective output wires to prevent excessive current stress on a single contact. The two DC OK pins are the relay contact terminals.

Applies to MDR-40 / 60 / 100. MDR-10 / 20 use DC OK active signal.
The actual wiring should follow the wiring diagram provided in the MDR Series installation manual. Use copper wire only and ensure all strands enter the terminal connection securely.
Read and follow all safety instructions before installing, wiring, maintaining or modifying the MDR Series power supply.
Note: Pollution Degree 2 applies where there is only non-conductive pollution that might temporarily become conductive due to occasional condensation. Generally refers to dry, well-ventilated locations, such as control cabinets.
The MDR Series is suitable for industrial control systems, factory automation equipment, electrical panels, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and hazardous location applications.
